WHERE DO MY SNEAKERS GO AT NIGHT?
I can't figure it out. I can never find my sneakers in the morning.
They're never where I put them when I went to bed.
This is a question that goes through my head.
Chorus: Where do my sneakers go at night?
Where do they go? Where do they go?
Where do my sneakers go at night
When I turn out the lights.
1. It's ten o'clock I lie in bed. Pretend to be asleep.
In the corner of my eye, I see my sneakers creeping right past me.
I watch them tiptoe out my door. I follow them to see.
I find them running down the hall oh so quietly.
They never stop to hit the lights. Outside they yell, "I'm
free!"
Excitement fills the air this night. I'm going to look and see.
CHORUS:
2. I watch them peel out from the curb and race off down the stree.
They gather 'neath a streetlamp where all the sneakers meet.
Six pairs are red. Two pairs are white. One's fluorescent blue.
High tops, low cuts, big and small, lot of running shoes.
Tons of sneakers hangin' 'round. One says, "Hey, let's go!"
They dash to the playground at the school. This could be quite a show.
3. At the playground, they go wild. there's laughter and such fun.
Soles are flapping, laces flying, games for everyone.
Some climb over monkey bars or boogie on down the court.
Some play hopscotch. Some jump rope. Some are building forts.
The evening goes so quickly by. One of them yells, "It's late!"
It's helter skelter, all directions, there's no time to waste. CHORUS:
4. They wind it down the straightaway. One even blows a flat.
They splash right through a puddle of mud. No time to take a bath.
My sneakers rush into my house. They don't see my behind.
Now I know the answer to the question on my mind. CHORUS:
MY DOG
My dog likes to tag along with me.
She follows me wherever I go.
Sloshing through the mud, stomping through the snow.
My dog, always ready for a bone.
She never likes to be alone.
Always had to bark when I 'm not home.
CHORUS: Got myself a dog and it feels so good to have one.
She's a very true friend. It's so much fun when we're together.
She's got a few tricks that she can do.
She can roll over and say, "Achoo!"
Jumping down the road and running through the field with
My dog gets along great with our cats.
Even lets them walk on her back.
She doesn't seem to mind 'cause they won't attack.
My dog comes inside our house at night.
She's a watchdog who never bites.
She sleeps beside the stove. She's got her night light. CHORUS:
My dog likes it when I scratch her ears.
When I bring her food, she cheers.
She needs a lot of love. She needs a lot of care.
My dog. I have a lot of fun with my dog.
I HATE MY NAME (not really)
CHORUS: I hate my name. Oh I hate my name.
I'm going to throw it in the Atlantic Ocean.
I hate my name. I hate my name.
I'm going to throw it away.
1. I'd like to live in Mexico. I'd call myself Jose.
I would say: "Buenos Dias!" There I would gladly stay.
Lots of tacos I would eat.
I'd break pinatas and find those treats.
A pocketful of jumping beans would be neat
If I could change my name. CHORUS:
2. I know I'd like to live in France. I'd call myself Pierre.
I would say: "Bon jour" each day. I'd be so happy there.
One thing I would eat the most would be stacks of golden brown french
toast.
I'd wear my beret. I would surely boast If I could change my name. CHORUS:
3. I'd like to live in Africa. Kunjit (Kunjeet), that's the name.
"Hujambo hibari!" I would say to people who passed my way.
I'd watch out for those mamba snakes.
I'd float with the hippos all over the place. I'd play on my drums.
It would be so great If I could change my name. CHORUS:
4. I'd like to live in the land of China. I'd call myself Ling Lei (Lee).
I'd say: "Ni hau!" everyday. I'd make Green Dragon Well Tea.
Chopsticks would make the food taste good.
I'd play ping pong with the neighborhood.
Meet a panda bear in the woods If I could change my name. CHORUS:
I've traveled all around the world. I've tried a lot of names.
The meaning of a name runs deep. Now I can really say:
I like my name 'cause it is my name.
I'm never going to throw it in any ocean.
I like my name. I like my name.
I'm never going to throw it away.
WATERBED AFTERNOONS
I always head up to my room when I come home from school.
I've got a waterbed, very unique. It's also a swimming pool.
I put on my suit and jump right in. All I do is swim, swim, swim.
It's so much fun to come home from school on waterbed afternoons.
I always head up to my room whenever I need a break.
With a flick of a switch, my waterbed turns into a clear, blue lake.
I get in my boat and row, row, row. So many places I like to go.
It's so much fun to come home from school on waterbed afternoons.
Refrain: My parents sometimes ask me 'bout the splashing in my room.
I ask them to come and join the fun but they've got so much to do.
When it's cold and snowing outside, I turn my thermostat down.
My waterbed becomes the best skating rink in town.
I lace up my skates. Get on the ice.
Skating all around just feels so nice.
It's so much fun to come home from school on waterbed afternoons.
Refrain:
I always head up to my room at the end of a busy day.
My waterbed's the coziest place in the whole USA.
I pull down my covers. Snuggle right in.
Think of all the places I've been.
And dream of other afternoons when I come home from school
on waterbed, waterbed afternoons, my waterbed afternoons.
MISSING SOCK
Something's weird. Something's strange.
It's something I cannot quite explain.
Missing sock, my missing sock
I can't find it anywhere.
CHORUS: Missing sock, missing sock
I don't know what has happened to it.
Missing sock, oh missing sock
I can't find it anywhere.
1. I looked through every draw in my bedroom.
I couldn't find a matching pair.
I found a lot of socks with holes in the toes
but my missing sock wasn't there.
Looked under the bed, got down on the floor.
I found a pile of slime and some apple cores.
I found a smelly sneaker and I ran for the door
but I couldn't find my missing sock. CHORUS:
2. I couldn't find it in the kitchen cupboards.
It wasn't with the raisin bran.
I couldn't find it in the electric oven.
It wasn't with the pots and pans.
I looked in the fridge and the freezer too.
I found a lot of food. There were quite a few
popsicles, pickles and some pizza too.
But I couldn't find my missing sock. CHORUS:
3. Where did my sock go? I think I know.
The clothes dryer ate it for lunch.
Or maybe it got tossed in the blender
and my sister drank it as punch.
So many socks, where do they go?
Where's my missing sock? I surely don't know.
If you should happen to find it around,
please tell me 'bout my missing sock!
SEA GULLS
Sea gulls making me laugh in the summer sun.
Sea gull flying up high over everyone.
We're having a picnic beside the sea.
Sea gull have their eyes on my food and me.
Sea gulls flying across the sky.
Sea gulls perched on the pilings and on the rocks.
Sea gulls keeping their eyes on the food I've got.
Fishing boats emptying out their nets.
Sea gulls want their treats, you can bet
Sea gulls flying across the sky.
CHORUS: I like to climb up on the rocks and call out to the roaring sea.
Fly with the sea gulls, sea gulls fly with me.
I like to go down on the beach and race along beside the sea.
Fly with the sea gulls, sea gulls fly with me.
Sea gulls playing it cool as they circle round.
Sea gulls without any notice they're charging down.
One's got the chips. One's got the rolls.
Two are flying off with our casserole.
Sea gulls flying across the sky.
Sea gulls watching me build castles in the sand.
Sea gulls flying so high above where I stand.
It's such a beautiful day to be by the sea.
The sun is shining so radiantly.
Sea gulls flying across the sky. CHORUS:
BAXTER THE BEAR
CHORUS: Baxter, the big black bear, has his paws most everywhere.
Baxter the big, black, roly poly (clap clap) bear from Maine.
1. Wintertime, Baxter sleeps
in his cozy den.
Listen to him snoring (snoring sounds).
Now it's time to wake up again.
Blink, blink, blink. He opens his eyes.
Stretches out and up so high.
Gives a sniff. Give a growl.
His tummy says, "I'm hungry now!"
CHORUS: Baxter, the big black bear, has his paws most everywhere.
Baxter the big, black, roly poly, hungry (clap clap) bear from Maine.
2. Baxter's mighty curious.
He heads to the dump for lunch.
He finds a lot of chicken bones
and crusts of bread. Munch! Munch! Munch!
Sometimes campers throw him snacks.
Cheerios and Cracker Jacks.
Feed him food that you don't like.
Baxter will eat it in just one bite.
CHORUS: Baxter, the big black bear, has his paws most everywhere.
Baxter the big, black, roly poly, hungry (clap clap), curious (clap clap)
bear from Maine.
3. Baxter makes the rounds each day.
Always making friends.
He spends the day roaming all about.
At suppertime, comes home again.
Rumpety rump he meets a bug,
a rabbit, a fox and a caribou.
Rumpety rump here comes a skunk
who says: "Can I shake hands with you?" (PHEW!!!)
CHORUS: Baxter, the big black bear, has his paws most everywhere.
Baxter the big, black, roly poly, hungry (clap clap), curious (clap clap)
friendly (clap clap) bear from Maine.
4. Baxter climbs the apple tree,
holding on so tight.
Lumbering through the blueberry patch,
he chases a butterfly.
You'd better be careful when you tickle his nose.
He gets so silly when you tickle his toes.
He might reach out, get a hold of you
And give you a great big bear hug too (Give bear hugs.).
CHORUS: Baxter, the big black bear, has his paws most everywhere.
Baxter the big, black, roly poly, hungry (clap clap), curious (clap clap)
hungry (clap clap), huggable (clap clap) bear from Maine.
BROKEN DONUTS
1. I've got something that's on my mind. It's really bothering me.
This never seems to happen to anyone else.
How come this always happens to me?
Wherever I am, wherever I go, this happens to me time after time.
Whenever I reach into a donut bag, you know what I always find.
CHORUS: Lots of broken donuts, no holes in the middle.
Lots of broken donuts for me.
It breaks me up to find a lot of broken up donuts,
no holes in the middle, all the jelly squished out,
only little pieces left for me.
2. The donuts can be powdered or honey-glazed, chocolate, frosted or
plain.
The jelly-filled donuts are broken up too.
All of them look 'bout the same.
Wherever I am, wherever I go, this happens to me time after time.
Whenever I reach into a donut bag, you know what I always find.
CHORUS:
3. My friend gave me bagels that never break
when I told her what was getting me down.
I asked her if she'd like a bag of broken donuts.
She screamed and started gobbling themdown.
Wherever I am, wherever I go, this still happens to me time after time.
But I call on my friend and we make a swap. She's always so happy to find.
Final CHORUS: Lots of broken donuts, no holes in the middle.
Lots of broken donuts for me.
Now I don't mind finding lots of broken up donuts,
no holes in the middle, all the jelly squished out
only little pieces left for me, (2x)
only teeny pieces left for me,
only teeny tiny pieces left for me.
I LIKE READING
I like reading when it's quiet.
I like reading when I'm curled up in a chair.
I like reading with a flashlight in the dark,
underneath my covers in my bed upstairs.
I like reading just for pleasure
or to find out somethings that I need to know.
There really is no doubt. Reading knocks me out.
Reading is my favorite thing to do.
I like reading in my treehouse.
I like reading while I'm swinging on a limb.
I like reading while I'm standing on my head,
waiting for my gym class to begin.
I like reading in the bathtub
even though sometimes my books get awfully wet.
Whether it be day or night, reading's always out of sight.
Reading is my favorite thing to do.
Reading's an adventure. It can be lots of fun.
It takes me places far away from home.
Whenever things get boring and I'm tired of my trombone,
when I'm with a book, I never feel alone.
I like reading when it's funny.
I like reading while I'm dancing on my feet.
I like reading while I'm riding in the car,
looking for a place where we can stop to eat.
I like reading on a ladder.
I like reading when I'm sitting on my roof.
There really is no doubt. Reading knocks me out.
Reading is my favorite thing to do.
WHEN I'M WITH MY DAD
1.I like to play. It's fun to joke around when I'm with my dad.
I like to look at books. It's such a blast to cook when I'm with my dad.
On Sundays, while we're at the beach, I like to pick up stones.
What a treat to stop for ice cream on our way back home.
When it's not his working day, I say, "Hip hip hooray!"
It's great to be with my dad.
2. It's fun to go for jogs and look for polliwogs when I'm with my dad.
I like to hammer nails and run out for the mail when I'm with my dad. I
like
showing dad all the neat things I can do.
I can write my name, jump real high, draw some pictures too.
When it's not his working day, I say, "Hip hip hooray!"
It's great to be with my dad.
CHORUS: When I can't find a sneaker, when I can't find a book,
if I ask my dad, he'll help me out.
He listens when I'm angry, when I'm confused or sad.
I've got a special friend and that's my dad.
3. I like to whistle tunes and listen to the loons
when I'm with my dad. Piggyback rides are cool.
I like splashing in the pool when I'm with my dad.
When we're both eating pop corn, we toss it all around.
And try to catch it in our mouths before it hits the ground.
When it's not his working day, I say, "Hip hip hooray!"
It's great to be with my dad. CHORUS:
4. I like flying kites. It's fun to go on hikes
when I'm with my dad. I like to pick up bugs.
Sometimes I give out hugs when I'm with my dad.
When it's not his working day, I say, "Hip hip hooray!"
It's great to be with my dad.
FUZZY WUZZY
There was a fuzzy wuzzy hiding in my closet.
There was a fuzzy wuzzy hiding on my head.
There was a fuzzy wuzzy hiding in my bed.
He opened up his mouth and this is what he said:
1st ending: "Brush your teeth!" (whispered softly)
2nd ending: "Go to bed!" (whispered softly)
Final ending: "Brush your teeth and go to bed!" (shouted loudly)
