POPCORN

I am feeling hungry, hungry for a snack.

What's to eat?  Let me decide.

There are cookies on the counter, fruit upon the shelf.

But what's that right before my eyes?

CHORUS:      Popcorn (popcorn) so delicious.

                        Popcorn (popcorn) my favorite munch.

                        Popcorn (popcorn) Irresistible!

When I hear it popping, there isn't any stopping .

When the kernels go POP, get ready to eat.

We get to school one morning,

The day before vacation.

Our teachers are as happy as can be.

Our work had made them proud.

They tell us all out loud

And walk in with our favorite treat.  CHORUS:

We go to see a movie.

We look and find a seat.

What's that aroma in the air?

It's buttery and hot.  I know I want a lot.

When it's all ready, we cheer for...  CHORUS:

A MOOSE NAMED AMOS

There's a moose on the loose out on the mountainside.

Two big antlers on his head, somewhat oversized.

A friendlier moose you’ll never find.   That's what people say.

Everyone got to know him well it started out this way.

CHORUS:      Amos, Amos

                        Never a moose so famous.

Amos, Amos   Everyone knows his name.

2. While munching on some leaves, he began to sniff the air.

He smelled something mighty tasty coming from somewhere.

So delicious!  Yum! Yum!  Which way should he go?

So he went down into town following his nose.  CHORUS:

3. Hustle, bustle, here and there. Traffic in the street.

People pointing, people staring, looks of disbelief.

He continued on his way. Suddenly he stopped.

That favorite smell he loved so well came from a donut shop. CHORUS:

4. Amos watched a batch of donuts come out of the oven.

The baker said: "A moose your size would surely like a dozen."

To help the hungry Amos carry them alone,

He stacked them on his antlers so he could take them home.

When the wind blows up the mountainside and the air is crisp and clear,

Then Amos comes to town for donuts. Everybody cheers!  CHORUS:

ALFREDO POTATO

1. Alfredo Potato is very mixed up.

Picks up a bowl and calls it a cup.

Always goes to bed as the sun comes up.

This potato's one of a kind.

This potato's one of a kind.

Alfredo Potato, wherever he goes,

wears boots on his head, hats on his toes.

Always says yes when he really means no.

This potato's one of a kind.

CHORUS:      Mix it all up.  Turn it around.

                        Topsy turvy.  Upside down.

                        Outside in or inside out.

This potato does it so well.

2. Alfredo Potato, figure him out.

Ask him to whisper and he has to SHOUT!

When something feels good, he always says, "Ouch!"

This potato's one of a kind.

This potato's one of a kind.

3. Alfredo Potato likes to have fun.

Plays in the rain.  Stays out of the sun.

Ask him to walk and he has to run.

This potato's one of a kind. CHORUS:

4. Alfredo Potato is very confused.

Picks up the comics to find out the news.

When he is busy, he has nothing to do.

This potato's one of a kind.

A little mixed up but I really don't mind.

MY TEACHER CRACKS ME UP

CHORUS:      My teacher cracks me up.

Makes it easy when I'm stuck.

My teacher always cracks me up.

And makes me laugh each day.

1. I like to go to school. I've got a

Teacher who's really cool.

We start out singing our favorite songs.

Cause singing is fun to do. CHORUS:

2. My teacher says: "What do you say that

We all make-up a play?

We'll write out a story. Act out the parts.

Let's do it for the school today. CHORUS:

3. My teacher says it's fun to move.

We all get up and we groove.

Shaking around, we giggle and laugh.

We're in a very silly mood. CHORUS:

We turn off the lights, pretend that it's night.

We learn about planets and stars.

As we explore, we find that there's more

        Waiting outside the door. CHORUS:

THE FIRST TIME I SAW A RAINBOW

I didn't think it was true.

People kept saying to me.

If I looked in the sky, after it rained

A magical sight I would see.

The day started windy and gray.

A rainstorm was passing us by.

Then the clouds broke away

The sun tried to shine.

Then came the biggest surprise.

CHORUS:      The first time that I saw a rainbow,

                        After the rain it appeared.

The first time that I saw a rainbow,

I couldn't believe it was there.

It spread out an arc in the sky,

The most beautiful colors and hues.

Yellow and red, orange and green,

purple fading to blue. CHORUS:

If I make it across, there's a big pot of gold

Imagine the things I could do.

If I make a big wish when I get to the end,

I'm sure that my wish would come true. CHORUS:

VACATION WITH MY FAMILY

CHORUS:      Vacation, vacation.  Fun and relaxation.

Vacation, vacation.  My family and me.

1. Everyone's excited.  The day is finally here.

We're heading on vacation like we do each year.

The car is packed and ready.

We're all set to go.

How long before we get there?

Does anybody know?

2. My brother's awfully quiet sitting next to me.

I think there's something wrong with him.

His face is turning green.

Should we stop the car?

Better make it quick!

His head is out the window.

The car's making him sick.

3. Rock and roll is playing on the radio.

Dad tries to sing the words,

Which he doesn't know.

Suddenly we hear a sound,

A thumping noise in back.

Stop the car. We all get out.

"Look! That tire's flat!"

4. I'm looking out the window.

I'm looking at the sky.

My little sister's waving

At the people going by.

My brother's feeling better.

The tire's been repaired.

We're rolling down the highway.

We must be almost there.

GOING THROUGH THE CAR WASH

I'm a car. I'm covered with grime.

I've been that way for a long, long time.

I'm dusty and dirty. What's on my mind?

Take me to the car wash to get in line.

CHORUS:      It's swish, swash, swish.   Scrub, scrub, scrub.

Look at me.  I'm covered with suds.

Swish, swash, swish.  Spatter and spray.

                        Washing that dirt away.

2. As they hook me up.  I begin to roll.

The hoses start spraying and the water is cold.

The brushes are spinning, so many machines.

I'm going through the car wash, gonna be clean. CHORUS:

3. A truck up ahead comes into view.

What everyone is staring at, I haven't a clue.

Then, on the back window, what's that I see?

In great big letters: "PLEASE WASH ME!" CHORUS:

4. I'm driving along when out of the blue.

I hit a big puddle and I roll on through.

I'm covered with mud. Will this ever end?

I'm going through the car wash again and again. CHORUS:

WE'LL MAKE THE WORLD A.O.K.

1. All the fish swimming in the sea,

I want to say they're AOK

The air around me that I breath,

I want to say it's AOK.

CHORUS:      AOK ,  AOK

We'll do it together you and me.

                        AOK ,  AOK

We'll make the world okay, you'll see.

2. All the animals in the world,

I want to say they're okay.

All the children, each boy and girl.,

I want to say they're okay. CHORUS:

3. The water we drink, the food we eat,

I want to say they're AOK.

Trees and plants make our world complete,

I want to say they're AOK. CHORUS:

4. One family gathered ‘round the table,

We want to say they're okay.

Let's do as much as we are able

We'll make everything AOK. CHORUS:

GRANDPA'S RIDING LAWN MOWER

CHORUS: Grandpa's riding lawn mower, its fun to ride around.

Grandpa's riding lawn mower makes some funny sounds.

            Putt! Putt! Putt!  Bang! Bang!

Everybody knows grandpa's riding lawn mower.

            Watch out here we go.

1. Grandpa let's me ride with him

When he mows the lawn.

I get to drive. It's a bumpy ride as we roll along.

Turn to the left. Turn to the right.

Back and forth we go.

There's no doubt we better watch out

For all those groundhog holes. CHORUS:

2. All the laundry, washed and clean, hanging on the line.As we're moving underneath, I duck my head in time.

Grandpa doesn't see the clothes strung from post to post.

Sheets get wrapped around his head.

Now grandpa is a ghost! CHORUS:

3. This big lawn is almost done.

There's a little bit left to do. Grandpa's looking tired.

I'm glad we're almost through. Suddenly the engine coughs;

Then begins to choke. It slowly grinds to a halt.

I think the engine's broke.

CHORUS:      Grandpa's riding lawn mower isn't running now.

Grandpa's riding lawn mower doesn't make a sound.

Not a putt, putt, putt or a bang, bang.

Everybody knows grandpa's riding lawn mower

                        Now it just won't go.

4. It seems like hours later. Parts lie all around.

We watch Grandpa shake his head

While staring at the ground.Socket wrenches, nuts and bolts.

Does grandpa really know? How to put it back together?

How to make it go? "Grandpa, do you think it's going to start?"

Putt!    Putt!    Putt!    Putt!

Putt! Putt! Putt! Putt!

Putt! Putt! Putt! Putt!

Grandpa's riding lawn mower riding all around.

Grandpa's riding lawn mower

Makes some funny sounds.

Putt! Putt! Putt!  Bang! Bang!

Everybody knows grandpa's riding lawn mower.

Watch out! Here we go!

PLANT A SEED

Plant a seed. Make a little hole.

Plant a seed and wait and

Watch the seed begin to grow.

Plant a seed. The sun is shining down.

Plant a seed and wait.

The sun is warming up the ground.

CHORUS:      It needs a little water.

It needs a little rain.

It takes a while to grow, I wonder why.

With a little patience and a lot of care.

It will sprout and reach up to the sky.

Plant a seed. What's it going to be?

Plant a seed and wait.

It may become a flower or tree

Plant a seed. Help it on its way.

Plant a seed and wait.

How stronger it becomes each day. CHORUS:

CHICKEN POX (OH NO! THEY'RE HERE!)

Mr. Beal’s 3rd Grade. Plumer-Motz School , Falmouth, ME

Oh no!  They're here!

Chicken pox in my ears.

I'm not sure what to do.

Chicken pox on my bellybutton too.

Oh no!  They're here!

My case is quite severe.

I wonder if they'll do any harm

Cause I've got millions on my arms.

Oh no! They're here!

Chicken pox everywhere.

My brother thinks they're really neat.

Now he's got them on his feet.

Oh look! Today

My chicken pox went away.

No more spots.  They're all gone

I can play all day long

And we can end this silly song.

A GREAT IDEA THAT'S ALL YOUR OWN

1. You might be waiting in line.

Taking a break to check the time.

Or reaching out to catch a ball.

You might be riding a bike,

eating ice cream, the kind you like

Then along comes a great idea.

CHORUS: An idea comes to you. Now what are you going to do?

Hold on or let it go. Why not try it out. Watch it grow.

Just like that, before you know, a great idea that's all your own.

2. You might be doing chores,

Reading a book 'bout dinosaurs,

taking a bite of your favorite food.

You might be doing math,

Getting ready for your bath.

Then along comes a great idea.

3. You might be on the go.

Talking with someone you know.

Or heading out the door to play.

You might be at your school

Taking a dip in the pool.

Then along comes a great idea.

BRIDGE: You have many ideas, ideas in your mind.

Some you will hold on to. Some you'll leave behind.

You might be the only one who sees the things you see.

Your idea might change the world unexpectedly.

CHORUS:

FRIENDS

Friends, friends, what could be better?

You and me, we both can be

Friends, friends, getting together.

What could be better than friends?

1. Friends on your street. Friends in your town.

Friends from a land far away.

New friends are waiting wherever you are.

Go on and make one today. CHORUS:

2. Whenever I get to making new friends,

I get real excited to meet.

People who like the same things I do

and want to be friends with me.

PURPLE COW         by Ben Spencer

As I was walking down the street

One early Saturday,

To my surprise a purple cow

Came upon my way.

Purple cow, nice and purple.

Purple cow eats green grass.

Purple cow, nice and purple

makes me happy real fast.

He mooed softly.Then I asked:

"What is that you said?"

He mooed again and then I heard:

"Would you please pat my head?"

I pat his head a little bit.

He then walked down the street.

I waved goodbye and he did too,

I'm sure again we'll meet.

Purple cow, nice and purple.

Purple cow eats green grass.

Purple cow nice and purple

makes me happy real fast.
